My spouse and I delayed Medicare Part B for employer coverage — what do we do now?

You'll each need Parts A and B (or Part C, which includes both) to use your health budget. Contact the Social Security Administration as soon as you can to get Part B started, so you don't end up with a gap in coverage. Applications take about two to four weeks to process, and a delay can push back when your coverage and your health budget begin.

Once you're enrolled, your health budget can go toward both of your Medicare premiums.
