Enter the employee's actual last day of employment — not the last day of the month. Past and future dates both work.
Coverage and billing always run through the end of that month. If their last day
is October 5, coverage continues through October 31.
The date that matters for billing is the 13th, when Thatch generates your invoice
for the following month's premiums:
• Offboarded on or before the 13th — they won't appear on that invoice.
• Offboarded after the 13th — next month's premium may already be on it. If we
haven't paid the carrier yet, you'll see an automatic credit on your following
invoice. If we've already paid, your employee will need to contact their carrier
directly to cancel and request a refund. Thatch can't reverse a charge once the
carrier has been paid.
Offboard as soon as you know someone's last day — it's the only way to reliably
avoid an extra month of premiums.
